Matrix factorizations and link homology. II. (Q929213)

The approach to constructing link homology theories for all \(n>0\) in the authors' earlier paper [Fundam. Math. 199, No. 1, 1--91 (2008; Zbl 1145.57009)] fails for \(n=0\). By utilizing a simple looking modification, the authors remedy the situation. The result is the assignment, to a link, of a complex of bigraded vector spaces whose Euler characteristic is the HOMFLYPT polynomial. The method assumes a presentation of the link as a closed braid.
