For suitable parameters and admissible weights \(w\), the author considers weighted Sobolev-Besov function spaces \(B^s_{p,q}(M^d, w)\) on non-compact Riemannian manifolds \(M^d\) with bounded geometry. Embeddings and real interpolation formulas carry over from the unweighted Euclidean setting. Wavelet frames are constructed on the manifold and these are used to characterise \(B^s_{p,q}(M^d, w)\). An important tool is a discretization \({\mathfrak M}\) of the manifold and corresponding sequence spaces \({\mathfrak b}_{p,q}({\mathfrak M},w)\). For radial weights, conditions are obtained for continuous and compact embeddings between the spaces. Moreover, the asymptotic behaviour of the entropy number of these embeddings is described. Finally, the author considers Schrödinger operators \(H= -\Delta+ V\), where \(\Delta\) is the Laplace-Beltrami operator on \(M^d\) and the potential \(V\) is a nonnegative measurable function. In particular, for manifolds with strictly negative sectional curvature, he obtains estimates for the number of negative eigenvalues of \(H\).
