The authors present several families of identities, relating infinite series and infinite products, of the Rogers-Ramanujan type, or, as they prefer to say, of the Ramanujan-Slater type, related to moduli 18 and 24. Some of these identities have appeared before in works of others, mainly Ramanujan, Slater, and Dyson. Some of the identities are new. The proof uses a key result known as Bailey's lemma. The authors also recall a well known connection of this type of identities with Lie algebras, in particular with affine Lie algebras of type \(A_1^{(1)}\) and \(A_2^{(2)}\). They suggest some connection of four of their new identities related to the modulus 18 to standard \(A_2^{(2)}\)-modules of level 6.
