Suppose that \(\sum_{\nu=0}^\infty a_\nu z^\nu\) is a power series with radius of convergence 1 and denote by \(s_n(z) =\sum_{\nu=0}^n a_\nu z^\nu\), \(n\in\mathbb N\), its partial sums. In this paper, the author deals with the problem of the value-distribution of the polynomials \(s_n\) and properties of the mapping \(w = s_n(z)\). A point \(z_0\in\mathbb C\) is called a limit point of zeros for the sequence \(\{s_n\}_n\) if for every \(\delta > 0\), there exist infinitely many \(n\in\mathbb N\) such that the corresponding polynomials~ \(s_n\) have a zero in \(U_\delta(z_0) := \{z: |z-z_0| <\delta\}\). Approximately 90 years ago, Robert Jentzsch proved the following remarkable result. Theorem A. Let \(f(z) =\sum_{\nu=0}^\infty a_\nu z^\nu\) be any power series with radius of convergence 1. Then every point \(z_0\) with \(|z_0| =1\) is a limit point of zeros for the sequence of partial sums. The statement of Theorem A may be interpreted as follows. Let any \(z_0\) be given with \(|z_0| =1\) and any \(\delta > 0\), then there exist infinitely many \(n\in\mathbb N\) such that the disk \(U_\delta(z_0)\) is mapped on a domain \(s_n(U_\delta(z_0))\) which contains the origin. The question arises, how ``big'' can those image-domains \(s_n(U_\delta(z_0))\) be? In the following result the author answers this question and throws new light on Jentzsch's Theorem A. Theorem B. Let \(f(z) =\sum_{\nu=0}^\infty a_\nu z^\nu\) be a power series with radius of convergence~ 1. Suppose that \(\{r_n\}_n\) is a sequence of positive numbers with \[ \lim_{n\to\infty}\sup\{r_n\}^{1/n}\leqslant 1 \] and let \(z_0\) with \(|z_0| =1\) and \(\delta > 0\) be arbitrary. Then there exist infinitely many \(n\in\mathbb N\) such that the corresponding partial sums \(s_n\) satisfy \[ s_n(U_\delta(z_0))\supset \{w: |w|< r_n\}. \]
