Arguments in favor and against psychologism in logic are here the object of a critical analysis. Conceptual and historical aspects of psychologism and of logic are discussed in a broad philosophical perspective. The analysis of psychological individualism includes Descartes, Locke, Kant and Mill. Classic objections to psychologism include Frege and Husserl. Further discussions are concerned with pure psychological individualism in logic and an evaluation of the criticisms against it; psychologism as psychologial descriptivism; teleology and cognitive architectures; ideal cognizers and logic that is psychologistic.
