Holonomy groups of stable vector bundles (Q935901)

The authors introduce a notion of holonomy group of a stable vector bundle \(F\) on a projective variety in terms of the Narasimhan-Seshadri unitary representation of its restriction to curves. Next, such a holonomy group is related to the minimal structure group and to the decomposition of tensor powers of \(F\) and is illustrated the principle that either this holonomy group is large or there is a clear geometric reason why it should be small.
