Let \(G\) be a stratified Lie group. Given a distributional kernel \(K\), let \({ Op}_L (K)=f*K\) and \({Op}_R (K)=K*f\) be left and right Calderón-Zygmund singular integral operators on \(G\). The main goal of this fundamental paper is to present an algebra of operators, which contains operators of the form \({Op}_L (K_1){ Op}_R (K_2)\), and such that the operators in this algebra are bounded on \(L^p\) (\(1<p<\infty\)) and are pseudolocal. This algebra contains the two-sided convolution operators of the form \[ Tf(x) =\int K(y,z) f (z^{-1}xy^{-1})\, dydz, \] where \(K\) is a product kernel, and provides an example that falls outside of the classical Calderón-Zygmund theory.
