The paper deals with linear and quasilinear evolutionary partial integro-differential equations of second order which include time fractional evolution equations of time order less than one. Let \(T > 0\), and \(\Omega\) be a bounded domain in a Euclidean space. In particular, the considered linear equation has the form \[ \partial (k\ast (u-u_0)) -Eu=f+ \operatorname{div}g \quad (t\in (0,T)) \] where \(k\) is a nonnegative kernel, \(\ast\) means the convolution in \(t\), \(E\) is an elliptic operator on \(\Omega\), \(f\) and \(g\) are given. By means of suitable energy estimates and De Giorgi's iteration technique the author establishes results asserting the global boundedness of appropriately defined weak solutions of the considered equations. It is also shown that a maximum principle holds for such equations.
