Let us recall the result of \textit{J. W. Milnor} [Singular points of complex hypersurfaces. Princeton, N.J.: Princeton University Press and the University of Tokyo Press (1968; Zbl 0184.48405)] for holomorphic maps \(f:({\mathbb C}^n,0)\rightarrow({\mathbb C},0)\). It states that for sufficiently small sphere \(S_\varepsilon=\partial B_\varepsilon\) around \(0\in{\mathbb C}^n\) one has a fibre bundle (locally trivial fiber space) \[ \varphi=\frac{f}{|f|}:S_\varepsilon\setminus K\rightarrow S^1 \] where \(K=f^{-1}(0)\cap S_\varepsilon\) is the link of \(f\) at \(0\). The authors give generalizations and refinements of this theorem for germs of real analytic maps of the form \(f\bar{g}:(X,0)\rightarrow({\mathbb R}^2,0)\) where \(X\) is a complex analytic variety in \({\mathbb C}^n\) with an isolated singularity at \(0\) and \(f\) and \(g\) are both holomorphic maps (\(\bar{g}\) denotes the complex conjugate of \(g\)). They mostly focus on the case when \(X\) has complex dimension two. Their main result concerning this case (Theorem~4.4) gives equivalent conditions for \(f\bar{g}:(X,0)\rightarrow({\mathbb R}^2,0)\) to have \(0\) as an isolated critical value. One of these conditions relates to Jacobian quotients of the pair \((f,g)\) [\textit{H. Maugendre}, J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 59, No.~1, 207--226 (1999; Zbl 0941.58027), \textit{Lê Dũng Tráng, H. Maugendre} and \textit{C. Weber}, J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 63, No.~3, 533--552 (2001; Zbl 1018.32027)]. The mappings of the type \(f\bar{g}:({\mathbb R}^4,0)\rightarrow({\mathbb R}^2,0)\) were used for example for studying links [\textit{L. Rudolph}, Comment. Math. Helv. 62, 630--645 (1987; Zbl 0626.57020), Lect. Notes Pure Appl. Math. 105, 251--263 (1987; Zbl 0626.57021)].
