Partial actions of groups on algebras, originally coming from the theory of operator algebras, recently have been investigated in several research papers mainly by the first two authors and others, for instance most recently in the paper [\textit{M. Dokuchaev, M. Ferrero} and \textit{A. Paques}, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 208, No. 1, 77-87 (2007; Zbl 1142.13005)]. Let \(A\) be an associative non-necessarily unital algebra over a commutative ring with unity and \(G\) a group. The paper studies the twisted partial action of the group on the algebra, which is a triple \((\{D_g\},\{\theta_g\},\{w_{gh}\})\), where the \(D_g\) are two-sided ideals of the algebra, the \(\theta_g\) are algebra-isomorphisms between the algebras \(D_{g^{-1}}\) and \(D_g\) and the \(w_{gh}\) are invertible elements of the multiplier algebra of the algebra \(D_gD_{gh}\), satisfiying certain suitable conditions. This way the crossed product \(\bigoplus_gD_g\delta_g\) may be defined and is proved to be associative. A \(G\)-graded algebra \(B\) is said to be homogeneously non-degenerate if for any nonzero element \(x\) from \(B_g\) we have \(xB_{g^{-1}}\) and \(B_{g^{-1}}x\) nonzero. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for a homogeneously non-degenerate \(G\)-graded algebra to be isomorphic as a graded algebra to a crossed product by a twisted partial action of the group. This theorem is extended for \(G\)-graded algebras \(B\) with \(B_gB_{g^{-1}}\) s-unital for each group element \(g\). Applying Morita theory it is proved that for a \(G\)-graded algebra \(B\) with \(B_gB_{g^{-1}}B_g=B_g\) for any group element \(g\) and with enough local units there exists a twisted partial action of the group on the algebra of matrices with only finitely many nonzero entries from \(B_1\) such that the algebra of matrices with only finitely many nonzero entries from \(B\) is isomorphic as a graded algebra to the crossed product.
