The authors study the existence of solutions of the nonlinear three-point boundary value problem \[ x''+\lambda x+ g(t,x)=h,\quad x(0)=0,\quad B_\eta x=0, \] where \[ B_\eta x=x(\eta)-x(\pi)\text{ for }\eta\neq \pi,\;B_\eta x=x'(\pi)\text{ for }\eta =\pi. \] They give sufficient and necessary conditions on \(g\) and \(h\) for the above problem to have a solution. Their conditions depend on the values of \(\lambda\) and \(\eta\).
