The positive projective (or Fremlin) tensor product and the positive injective (or Wittstock) tensor product of Banach lattices are, respectively, the order analogues of the projective and the injective tensor products of Banach spaces. Let \(X\) be a Banach lattice and let \(1<p<\infty\). In the paper under review, the authors study the reflexivity and the Grothendieck property of the positive projective tensor product \(\ell_p\hat\otimes_FX\) and the positive injective tensor product \(\ell_p\tilde\otimes_iX\). They prove the order analogues of characterizations which are known for the tensor products of Banach spaces. The main results are as follows. Let \(1/p+1/p^*=1\), and let \({\mathcal L}^r(X,Y)\) and \({\mathcal K}^r(X,Y)\) denote the Banach spaces of linear regular operators and of compact linear regular operators from \(X\) to a Banach lattice \(Y\). The tensor product \(\ell_p\hat\otimes_FX\) is reflexive if and only if \(X\) is reflexive and \({\mathcal L}^r(\ell_p, X^*)={\mathcal K}^r(\ell_p, X^*)\) if and only if \(\ell_{p^*}\tilde\otimes_iX^*\) is reflexive if and only if \({\mathcal L}^r(\ell_p,X^*)\) is reflexive. The tensor product \(\ell_p\hat\otimes_FX\) (respectively, \(\ell_p\tilde\otimes_iX\)) has the Grothendieck property if and only if \(X\) has the Grothendieck property and \({\mathcal L}^r(\ell_p, X^*)={\mathcal K}^r(\ell_p, X^*)\) (respectively, \({\mathcal L}^r(\ell_{p^*}, X^{**})={\mathcal K}^r(\ell_{p^*}, X^{**})\)). The main idea of the proof consists in identifying the above positive tensor products with Banach lattice valued sequence spaces.
