Acceleration of a Schwarz waveform relaxation method for parabolic problems (Q964135)

The Aitken-like acceleration method of the additive Schwarz algorithm [see \textit{M. Garbey} and \textit{D. Tromeur-Dervout}, Int. J. Numer. Methods Fluids 40, No.~12, 1493--1513 (2002; Zbl 1025.76043)] for elliptic problems is generalized to the additive Schwarz waveform relaxation for parabolic problems. This new domain decomposition algorithm is in space and time. A Steffensen variant of the method applied to linear and nonlinear diffusion problems is also presented. Various advantages of the technique introduced in the paper are also highlighted [e.g. \textit{H. Ltaief; } et al. [Int. J. Parallel Comput., to appear, available online 209-05-001].
