Rickard proved that two Brauer tree algebras over the same field \(K\) are derived equivalent if the Brauer trees of the algebras have the same number of edges and if moreover the exceptional multiplicities coincide. Rouquier shows that given a grading on a symmetric algebra \(A\) and derived equivalence between \(A\) and \(B\), then \(B\) obtains a grading induced by this equivalence and the grading on \(A\). The author considers a natural grading on the Brauer star algebra of a star with \(n\) edges and exceptional multiplicity \(m\) and uses one of the known derived equivalences to any other Brauer tree algebra associated to a Brauer tree with \(n\) edges and exceptional multiplicity \(m\) to define a grading on all Brauer tree algebras. Finally the author shows that there is basically a unique grading on Brauer tree algebras.
