The author studies the fluid-solid interaction problem for a finite half-cylindrical elastic tube and a viscous fluid. The deformation of the tube is assumed to be small, so that the motion of elastic solid is governed by Lamé equations. The viscous fluid is governed by Stokes equations. It is further assumed that the fluid is driven by a small time-dependent pressure drop between the outflow and inflow sections. Nonstandard boundary conditions are imposed at the ends of the tube, such that the domains involved do not move in time. The author proves the existence and uniqueness of a weak solution for this three-dimensional fluid-elastic structure interaction problem. Under appropriate regularity assumptions on the data, the author also obtains strong energy estimates and shows the existence of pressure with improved properties.
