Summary: The International Mathematical Olympiad is the most important annual mathematics competition for high school students. The 50th Anniversary Olympiad took place in July 2009 in Bremen/Germany. A particular highlight was the anniversary ceremony in the presence of some of the leading research mathematicians that had, in their youths, participated at IMOs themselves.
