Existence of positive solutions for semipositone higher-order BVPs on time scales (Q978533)

The authors consider the \(n\)-th order nonlinear dynamic equation \[ u^{\Delta^n}+f(t,u(\sigma^{n-1}(t)),u^\Delta(\sigma^{n-2}(t)),\dots,u^{\Delta^{n-2}}(\sigma(t)))=0 \] with some boundary conditions on a bounded time scale \([0,1]\cap{\mathbb T}\). The function \(f\) is continuous with values bounded from below by a negative constant. As in the corresponding continuous time case, the authors use the Krasnoselskii fixed point theorem in a cone to establish the existence of a positive solution.
