The author studies the uniqueness of radially symmetric ground states for the semilinear elliptic equation \(\Delta u + f(u)=0\) in \(\mathbb R^N\), \(N\geq 2\). Assuming that \(F(t)=\int^t_0 f(s)\,ds\) is negative in \((0, u_1)\) and positive in \((u_1,\bar u)\). The author obtains the uniqueness of nonnegative solutions with \(u(0)=\sup u\in (0, \bar u)\) in the case where \(S(u)=uf'(u)/f(u)\) is monotonically decreasing in \([u_1,\bar u)\).
