The author considers the problem of deciding which sequences of integers \((3,d_2,d_3)\), \(3\leq d_2 \leq d_3\) can arise as multi-degree of a tame automorphism of the affine \(3\)-space \(\mathbb{C}^3\). The main result, which asserts that such a sequence is the one of a tame automorphism if and only if \(3\mid d_2\) or \(d_3\in 3\mathbb{N}+d_2\mathbb{N}\) is derived from the deep algorithmic characterization of tame automorphisms due to \textit{I. P. Shestakov} and \textit{U. U. Umirbaev} [J. Am. Math. Soc. 17, No. 1, 197--227 (2004; Zbl 1056.14085)].
