On an open problem of Zhang
A decade ago, in her extension of a Rotfel'd-type inequality to sectorial matrices, i.e., matrices whose numerical range is contained in a sector of the complex plane, \textit{P. Zhang} [Linear Multilinear Algebra 63, No. 12, 2511--2517 (2015; Zbl 1393.15028)] posed an open problem on improving a coefficient in order to make the inequality stronger. Several authors have since attempted to address this problem and have obtained partial results.\N\NIn this very nice paper, the author provides a complete solution to the open problem. Results of \textit{X. Fu} and \textit{Y. Liu} [Linear Multilinear Algebra 64, No. 1, 105--109 (2016; Zbl 1336.47016)] and \textit{J. Yang} et al. [Linear Multilinear Algebra 67, No. 9, 1719--1726 (2019; Zbl 07089811)] are improved as well.
