On half lattice ordered groups

From MaRDI portal

A half lattice ordered group (an hl-group) is a special kind of a right ordered group which generalizes the notion of a lattice ordered group (an l-group). Each hl-group can be represented as a group of monotonic permutations of a chain. The direct product of a system of hl-groups need not be an hl-group. Therefore the author defines a small direct product that is an hl-group for every system of hl-groups. Further he introduces the notion of congruence relation of an hl-group and shows, for example, that each such congruence relation is determined by an l-ideal of an l-subgroup of index 2 of \(G\). The sets of regular small direct decompositions are studied and it is shown that any two small direct decompositions of an hl-group have isomorphic refinements.
