In the paper [\textit{D. Georgiou} et al., Topology Appl. 374, Article ID 109252, 17 p. (2025; Zbl 08100562)] the authors introduced and studied the zero-dimensional structural numbers \(\mathcal{Z}^{\mathrm{ind}}_{0}\) and \(\mathcal{Z}^{\dim}_{0}\) with respect to the small inductive dimension \(\mathrm{ind}\) and the covering dimension \(\dim\), respectively. Hence, in a similar road, in the present article, the authors insert and study new structural numbers \(\mathrm{Sn}^{{\mathcal{A}}}\) for different subclasses \(\mathcal{A}\) of the class of hereditarily normal \(\mathrm{T}_1\)-spaces.\N\N\textbf{Definition.} Let \(\mathcal{A}\) be a class of topological spaces and \((X,\tau)\) be a topological space. The structural number of \((X,\tau)\) with respect to the class \(\mathcal{A}\), denoted by \(\mathrm{Sn}^{\mathcal{A}}(X,\tau)\), is the smallest cardinal number \(\kappa\) for which there exists a family of \(\mathcal{A}\)-extensions \(\tau_i\), \(i\in I\), of \(\tau\) such that \(|I|=\kappa\) and \(\tau= \bigcap_{i\in I}\tau_i\). If there is no such family, then \(\mathrm{Sn}^{\mathcal{A}}(X,\tau)=\infty\), adapting the convention that \(\infty>\kappa\) for any cardinal number \(\kappa\).\N\NBased on the above notion and among various presented results and examples, if \(\mathcal{M}_{\dim}\) denotes the class of metrizable spaces \(Z\) with \(\dim Z=0\), the authors prove that:\N\begin{itemize}\N\item[(1)] for any metrizable space \(X\) with \(\dim X=n\geq 0\) we have that\N\[\N1\leq\mathrm{Sn}^{\mathcal{M}_{\dim}}X\leq n + 1\N\]\Nand if \(\dim(X,\tau)\geq1\), then\N\[\N2\leq \mathrm{Sn}^{\mathcal{M}_{\dim}}X\leq n + 1.\N\]\N\N\item[(2)] for any countable-dimensional metrizable space \(Y\) we have that\N\[\N1\leq\mathrm{Sn}^{\mathcal{M}_{\dim}}Y\leq \aleph_0.\N\]\N\end{itemize}
