On sup- and inf-attaining functionals
From MaRDI portal
This note aims to present a construction of bounded closed convex subsets on which a functional attains its supremum but not its infimum. From this construction, the author obtains a characterization of reflexivity in the category of normed spaces, as well as a description of full norm-attainment within this same setting.
