Eine stetige Funktion \(f(x)\) ist im Intervall \(a < x < b\) konstant, wenn sie dort bis auf eine abzählbare Menge der Bedingung \[ \lim\limits_{h\to 0}\dfrac{f(x+h) - f(x-h)}{2h} = 0 \] genügt. (Vgl. \textit{Mazurkiewicz}, 1917; F. d. M. 46, 1460 (JFM 46.1460.*).)
