On the range of fractal interpolation functions
In [Chaos Solitons Fractals 173, Article ID 113674 (2023; \url{doi:10.1016/j.chaos.2023.113674})], the first and second author presented a method to determine the extent of a fractal set generated by an iterated function system (IFS) by constructing a finite family of closed balls whose union contains the fractal.\N\NThis paper applies the aforementioned approach to special attractors of IFSs, namely, the graphs of so-called fractal interpolation functions. Within this framework, it is shown that the boundaries of the covering closed balls are rhombi, and the vertices of such rhombi are computed. In addition, estimates for the range of fractal interpolation functions are derived.
