The author proves the existence of the Barnsley's fractal interpolation functions in terms of the Rakotch contractions and the Matkowski fixed point theorem, see [\textit{E. Rakotch}, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 13, 459--465 (1962; Zbl 0105.35202)] and [\textit{J. Matkowski}, Dissertationes Math., Warszawa 127, 63 p. (1975; Zbl 0318.39005)].
