Positive solutions of a nonlinear four-point boundary value problems

From MaRDI portal

By using Krasnoselskii's theorem in a cone, the author proves the existence and multiplicity of positive solutions to the four-point BVP \[ y +a(t)f(y)=0, \quad 0<t<1, \quad y(0)=\alpha y(\xi), \quad y(1)=\beta y(\eta), \] with \(0<\xi\leq\eta<1\), \(0<\alpha(1-\xi)<1\), \(0<\beta\eta<1\) and \(\alpha\xi(1-\beta)+(1-\alpha)(1-\beta\eta)>0\). Some examples are given to illustrate the results.
