The author constructs a special class of simple approximately homogeneous \(C^\ast\)-algebras (limits of finite matrix algebras with entries in algebras of continuous functions on compact and connected metric spaces) which do not have weakly perforated \(K_0\) group. Moreover, it is shown that the construction provides an example of a simple approximately homogeneous \(C^\ast\)-algebra \(A\) such that \(K_0(A)\) has perforation of any order, meaning that for each positive integer \(n\) there is an \(x\in K_0(A)\) such that \(nx>0\) and \(hx\), \(h=1,\ldots, n-1,\) are all non-positive. Further, it is proved that the \(C^\ast\)-algebra \(A\) above can have unbounded perforation and that all \(C^\ast\)-algebras in construction have dense set of invertible elements. Interesting results of the paper imply, among others, that there is a simple approximately finite algebra which does not have slow dimension growth and the property in the Fundamental Comparison Question studied in [\textit{B. Blackadar}, Lond. Math. Soc. Lect. Notes Ser. 135, 21-54 (1988; Zbl 0706.46043)].
