Curves in Calabi-Yau threefolds and topological quantum field theory
Families, moduli of curves (algebraic) (14H10) Calabi-Yau manifolds (algebro-geometric aspects) (14J32) Gromov-Witten invariants, quantum cohomology, Gopakumar-Vafa invariants, Donaldson-Thomas invariants (algebro-geometric aspects) (14N35) Calabi-Yau theory (complex-analytic aspects) (32Q25) Two-dimensional field theories, conformal field theories, etc. in quantum mechanics (81T40)
The authors continue their study of local Gromov-Witten invariants started e.g. in [Geom. Topol. 5, 287--318 (2001; Zbl 1063.14068)]. Relative invariants of the local theory are defined. They give rise to a \((1+1)\) dimensional topological quantum field theory taking values in the ring \(\mathbb Qt\). The associated Frobenius algebra turns out to be semisimple. Structure results for the local invariants are obtained. Closed formulas are given if either the target genus is one or the degree is one.
