Abstract: We construct new examples of immersed minimal surfaces with catenoid ends and finite total curvature, of both genus zero and higher genus. In the genus zero case, we classify all such surfaces with at most 2n+1 ends, and with symmetry group the natural extension of the dihedral group Dn. The surfaces are constructed by proving existence of the conjugate surfaces. We extend this method to cases where the conjugate surface of the fundamental piece is noncompact and is not a graph over a convex plane domain.

The author constructs a collection of complete immersed minimal surfaces with catenoidal ends and a large number of symmetries. For special cases he obtains classification results. Existence is proved by an extended version of the conjugate surface construction. His surfaces may be seen as extensions of known triply periodic minimal surfaces, which have a fundamental domain in a convex polyhedron and circular-like boundary curves at the polyhedron's faces, by extending the circular-like boundary curves to infinity. This is reflected in the underlying existence proof.
