Matrix functions with arbitrarily prescribed left and right partial indices
Integral equations of the convolution type (Abel, Picard, Toeplitz and Wiener-Hopf type) (45E10) Functions whose values are linear operators (operator- and matrix-valued functions, etc., including analytic and meromorphic ones) (47A56) Factorization theory (including Wiener-Hopf and spectral factorizations) of linear operators (47A68) Toeplitz operators, Hankel operators, Wiener-Hopf operators (47B35)
The main result is as follows. Given two vectors \(\rho, \lambda \in Z^n, n \geq 2,\) there exists a matrix function in \(L^\infty_{n \times n}\) on the unit circle which has the right Wiener-Hopf factorization in \(L^2\) with partial indices \(\rho\) and the left Wiener-Hopf factorization in \(L^2\) with partial indices \(\lambda\).
