Abstract: We investigate which homogeneous polynomials are determined by their Jacobian ideals, and extend and complete previous results due to J. Carlson and Ph. Griffiths, K. Ueda and M. Yoshinaga, and A. Dimca and E. Sernesi.

The author improves previous results by J. Carlson, Ph. Griffiths, E. Sernesi, K. Ueda, M. Yoshinaga and the reviewer by giving quite general conditions under which a homogeneous polynomial, not of Thom-Sebastiani type, is determined by its Jacobian ideal.
