Pseudo-differential operators, Wigner transform and Weyl transform on the similitude group, SIM(2)

The authors consider the locally compact Lie group \(\mathbb{SIM}(2)\) of transformations on \({\mathbb R}^2\) that is generated by translations, dilations, and rotations. Fourier analysis and the Plancherel theorem on this group are then considered and explicit formulas obtained. Based on these the authors then introduce pseudo-differential operators on \(\mathbb{SIM}(2)\) and consider Wigner and Weyl transforms in this setting. The authors prove \(L^2 \to L^p\), \(p \geq 2\), boundedness results for pseudo-differential operators based on symbolic assumptions. They also characterize Hilbert-Schmidt operators on \(\mathbb{SIM}(2)\) in terms of symbolic conditions, and give a trace formula for operators of trace class.
