Representations of algebras by J.-A. de la Peña provides an original book in algebra, covering topics like integral quadratic forms, lattices of ideals, Auslander-Reiten theory, Bass's theorems on semi-perfect rings, Galois coverings and smash products, Coxeter spectral analysis, Weyl groups, post-projective components, etc., applied to the representation theory of wide classes of associative algebras. This presents classical aspects of ring theory under a new perspective. Other important topics include the Brauer-Thrall conjectures, Drozd's theorem, and criteria to distinguish tame from wild algebras. This book is strongly recommended as a second graduate course in algebra, or as an introductory book for researchers in the field of representation theory of algebras.
