Symplectic and Kähler structures on biquotients
The authors study symplectic and Kähler structures on biquotients \(G//H\), that is, the orbit space of the action by \(H\subset G\times G\) on \(G\), where \(G\) is a Lie group, the action is free and given by left and right multiplications. Despite some biquotient admit 3-Sasakian structures, not much is know about other types of geometries on biquotients. In particular, it is interesting to know which biquotients admit a Kähler structure. In this direction, the authors construct (Theorem 2.2) symplectic structures on some equal-rank biquotients of compact simple Lie groups \(G//T\), where \(T\) is a torus. Moreover, it is shown in Section 3 that the new symplectic structures mentioned above admit Hamiltonian Lie group actions. Finally, in Section 4 they analize the existence of Kähler structures on equal-rank biquotients. In particular, they find a Kähler structure on \(\operatorname{SU}(4)//S_{12}\). Furthermore, they conjecture that all equal-rank biquotients admit a Kähler structure.
