Ginzburg-Landau functionals and renormalized energy: a revised -convergence approach

The authors give short, efficient, and self-contained proofs for $\Gamma$-convergence for the following cases: Compactness, $\Gamma -\liminf$ inequality, $\Gamma -\limsup$ inequality. Then, first order $\Gamma$-convergence is proved for $GL_{\epsilon}$ to the renormalized energy for the three cases above. Finally, boundary conditions for the three cases above are considered.
