Abstract: In this paper we prove and discuss some new type inequalities of maximal operators of Vilenkin-N"orlund means with monotone coefficients. We also apply these results to prove a.e. convergence of such Vilenkin-N"orlund means. It is also proved that these results are the best possible in a special sense. As applications, both some well-known and new results are pointed out.
Nörlund means with monotone coefficients are considered for Vilenkin-Fourier series. It is proved that the maximal operator of the Nörlund means is bounded from the Hardy space \(H_p\) to the weak \(L_p\) space. It is also proved that these results are best possible. As special cases more well known results for the Fejér, Riesz and Cesàro means are obtained.
