On the construction of spherical hyperfunctions on R^p+q
Let \(P=\sum_{1\leq i\leq p}(\partial /\partial x_ i)^ 2-\sum_{1\leq j\leq q}(\partial /\partial y_ j)^ 2\). In this paper, spherical hyperfunctions, namely O(p,q)- or \(SO_ 0(p,q)\)-invariant hyperfunction solutions to the equation \((P+\nu)u=0,\) are constructed by an integral formula analogous to Ehrenpreis' fundamental principle, by means of O(p,q)- or \(SO_ 0(p,q)\)-invariant measures on the variety \(\sum \xi_ i^ 2-\sum \eta_ j^ 2=\nu.\) Note that hyperfunction version of Ehrenpreis' fundamental principle in the abstract form is already given by the reviewer and T. Oshima in the early 70's.
