The paper is devoted to the Cauchy-Dirichlet problem of a time dependent convection-diffusion equation \[ \left\{\begin{array}{l} \partial_t u-\Delta u=a\cdot \nabla (|u|^{p-1}u),\,\,\,t>0,\,\,x\in \Omega,\\ u(t,x)=0,\,\,\,t>0,\,\,x\in\partial\Omega,\\ u(0,x)=u_0(x),\,\,\,x\in \Omega, \end{array}\right.\leqno(1) \] where \(\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^n\) (\(n\ge 1\)) is an unbounded domain with uniform \(C^2\) boundary, \(u:\mathbb{R}_+\times \Omega\to \mathbb{R}\) is the unknown function, \(a\in \mathbb{R}^n\), and \(u_0:\Omega\to\mathbb{R}\) is a given initial data. The authors study the local existence and uniqueness of weak solutions for problem \((1)\) in uniformly local function spaces \(L_{\mathrm{uloc},\varrho}^r(\Omega)\), where the solution is not decaying at \(|x|\to\infty\).
