Abstract: Let (mathcalH,[cdot, cdot]) be a Hilbert space and K(mathcalH) be the C∗-algebra of compact operators on mathcalH. In this paper, we present some characterizations of the norm-parallelism for elements of a Hilbert K(mathcalH)-module mathcalE by employing the minimal projections on mathcalH. Let T,SinmathcalL(mathcalE). We show that T|S if and only if there exists a sequence of basic vectors xnxin in mathcalE such that limn[langleTxn,Sxnanglexin, xin]=lambda|T||S| for some lambdainmathbbT. In addition, we give some equivalence assertions about the norm-parallelism of "compact" operators on a Hilbert C∗-module.

Let \(X\) be a complex normed space and \(x,y\in X\). We say that \(x\) and \(y\) are norm-parallel if \(\|x+\lambda y\|=\|x\|+\|y\|\) for some unimodular complex number \(\lambda\). In the paper under review, the authors give some characterizations of the norm-parallelism (i) of elements of a Hilbert \(\mathbb K(H)\)-module, and (ii) of ``compact operators on a Hilbert \(\mathbb K(H)\)-module.
