Vertical Toeplitz operators on the upper half-plane and very slowly oscillating functions
Bergman spaces of functions in several complex variables (32A36) Laplace transform (44A10) Special integral transforms (Legendre, Hilbert, etc.) (44A15) Linear operators in reproducing-kernel Hilbert spaces (including de Branges, de Branges-Rovnyak, and other structured spaces) (47B32) Toeplitz operators, Hankel operators, Wiener-Hopf operators (47B35)
The authors investigate the \(C^{\ast}\)-algebra \({\mathcal V}{\mathcal T}(L_{\infty})\) of Toeplitz operators on the Bergman space on the upper half-plane with symbols depending on \(\operatorname{Im} z\) only. It is proved that the generating set is dense in \({\mathcal V}{\mathcal T}(L_{\infty})\) and that \({\mathcal V}{\mathcal T}(L_{\infty})\) is isometrically isomorphic to the \(C^{\ast}\)-algebra of \textit{very slowly oscillating functions} on \(\mathbb R_{+}\). The latter set consists of all functions \(a\) on \(\mathbb R_{+}\) such that the function \(a(\exp(x))\), \(x\in \mathbb R\) is uniformly continuous on \(\mathbb R\).
