Abstract: We prove that on a compact Sasakian manifold (M,eta,g) of dimension 2n+1, for any 0leplen the wedge product with etawedge(deta)p defines an isomorphism between the spaces of harmonic forms OmegaDn−pelta(M) and OmegaDn+p+1elta(M). Therefore it induces an isomorphism between the de Rham cohomology spaces Hn−p(M) and Hn+p+1(M). Such isomorphism is proven to be independent of the choice of a compatible Sasakian metric on a given contact manifold. As a consequence, an obstruction for a contact manifold to admit Sasakian structures is found.

Let \((M, g, \eta )\) be a compact Sasakian manifold of dimension \(2n+1\). For each \(0\leq p\leq n\) the authors obtain the isomorphism \(Lef_{n-p}:H^{n-p}(M)\rightarrow H^{n+p+1}(M)\) given by \([\beta ]\rightarrow [\eta \wedge (d\eta )^p\wedge \prod _{\Delta }\beta ]\) where \(\prod _{\Delta }\beta \) denotes the orthogonal projection of \(\beta \) on the space of harmonic forms. Also, there are obtained some spectral properties of the Laplacian operator on differential forms. More precisely, given \(\alpha \in \Omega _{\Delta }^{n-p}(M)\) it is proved that \(\eta \wedge (d\eta )^k\wedge \alpha \) and \((d\eta )^{k-1}\wedge \alpha \) are eigenforms of the Laplacian with positive integer eigenvalues for all \(0\leq k\leq p-1\).
