A generalization of an integral of Ramanujan
From MaRDI portal
(Redirected from A generalization of an integral of Ramanujan)
Ramanujan considered the following integral \[ \varphi(n)= \int_0^1 \frac{\log u}{v} d v\, , \] where \(v=u^n-u^{n-1}, n \geq 0,\) in his third notebook. Author of the paper entered in consideration of the generalized integral. For \(n \geq 0\) and \(z \in \mathbb{R}\) is defined \[ \varphi(z,n)=\int_1^z \frac{\log u (nu-(n-1))}{u^2-u} d u\;. \] The various functional equation and properties of the generalized integral are proved in this paper. The bibliography contains 3 sources.
