On linear H^ equalization of communication channels.
On linear \(H^\infty\) equalization of communication channels.
The paper studies the \(H^\infty\) approach to the linear equalization problem for communication channels. In particular, the performance of the causal risk-sensitive equalizer is examined as well as of its modifications obtained introducing a suitable number of delays. The average behavior of such equalizers is similar to that of the MMSE equalizer (e.g. in terms of BER). However a better worst-case performance of the \(H^\infty\) equalizer is shown using a numerical example. As a consequence a more robust behavior against modeling errors can be expected.
