Abstract: Given and , a sequence is called a -expansion for if x=sum_{i=1}^{infty}frac{epsilon_{i}}{eta^{i}}. In a recent article the author studied the quality of approximation provided by the finite sums cite{Bak}. In particular, given and we associate the set W_{eta}(Psi):=igcap_{m=1}^{infty}igcup_{n=m}^{infty}igcup_{(epsilon_{i})_{i=1}^{n}in{0,1}^{n}}Big[sum_{i=1}^{n}frac{epsilon_{i}}{eta^{i}},sum_{i=1}^{n}frac{epsilon_{i}}{eta^{i}}+Psi(n)Big]. Alternatively, is the set of such that for infinitely many there exists a sequence satisfying the inequalities 0leq x-sum_{i=1}^{n}frac{epsilon_{i}}{eta^{i}}leq Psi(n). If then has zero Lebesgue measure. We call a approximation regular, if implies is of full Lebesgue measure within . The author conjectured in cite{Bak} that almost every is approximation regular. In this paper we make a significant step towards proving this conjecture. The main result of this paper is the following statement: given a sequence of positive real numbers which satisfy , then for Lebesgue almost every the set is of full Lebesgue measure within . Here the sequence should be interpreted as a sequence tending to infinity at a very slow rate.
