Abstract: Let gothE(gothp) denote the Eisenstein ideal in the Hecke algebra BbbT(gothp) of the Drinfeld modular curve X0(gothp) parameterizing Drinfeld modules of rank two over BbbFq[T] of general characteristic with Hecke level gothp-structure, where gothpriangleleftBbbFq[T] is a non-zero prime ideal. We prove that the characteristic p of the field BbbFq does not divide the order of the quotient BbbT(gothp)/gothE(gothp) and the Eisenstein ideal gothE(gothp) is locally principal.
