Abstract: We consider the (finite) W-algebra Wm|n attached to the principal nilpotent orbit in the general linear Lie superalgebra mathfrakglm|n(mathbbC). Our main result gives an explicit description of Wm|n as a certain truncation of a shifted version of the Yangian Y(mathfrakgl1|1). We also show that Wm|n admits a triangular decomposition and construct its irreducible representations.

A classical (finite) \(W\)-algebra is a filtered deformation of the Slodowy slice to a nilpotent orbit in a complex Lie algebra. In the paper under review the authors study a ``super version, that is the (finite) \(W\)-algebra \(W_{m|n}\) for the general linear Lie superalgebra \(\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}(\mathcal{C})\). The main result of the paper gives an explicit isomorphism between \(W_{m|n}\) and a certain truncation of a shifted subalgebra of the Yangian \(Y(\mathfrak{gl}_{1|1})\). The authors also show that \(W_{m|n}\) admits a triangular decomposition in which the positive and the negative components are exterior algebras while the middle component is a symmetric algebra. This is used to show that all simple \(W_{m|n}\)-modules are finite dimensional. A tensor product construction of all simple finite dimensional \(W_{m|n}\)-modules is given.
