Abstract: In $PG(3,q^2)$, with $q$ odd, we determine the possible intersection sizes of a Hermitian surface $mathcalH$ and an irreducible quadric $mathcalQ$ having the same tangent plane $pi$ at a common point $PinmathcalQcapmathcalH$.
