Abstract: Let mathcalOsubsetmathbbRd be a bounded domain of class C2p. In L2(mathcalO;mathbbCn), we study a selfadjoint strongly elliptic operator AN,varepsilon of order 2p given by the expression b(mathbfD)∗g(mathbfx/varepsilon)b(mathbfD), varepsilon>0, with the Neumann boundary conditions. Here g(mathbfx) is a bounded and positive definite (mimesm)-matrix-valued function in mathbbRd, periodic with respect to some lattice; b(mathbfD)=sum|alpha|=pbalphamathbfDalpha is a differential operator of order p with constant coefficients; balpha are constant (mimesn)-matrices. It is assumed that mgeqslantn and that the symbol has maximal rank for any . We find approximations for the resolvent left(AN,varepsilon−zetaIight)−1 in the L2(mathcalO;mathbbCn)-operator norm and in the norm of operators acting from L2(mathcalO;mathbbCn) to the Sobolev space Hp(mathcalO;mathbbCn), with error estimates depending on varepsilon and zeta.
