Abstract: Let be a bounded domain of class . In the Hilbert space , we consider a matrix elliptic second order differential operator with the Dirichlet boundary condition. Here is the small parameter. The coefficients of the operator are periodic and depend on . We find approximation of the operator in the norm of operators acting from to the Sobolev space with an error term . This approximation is given by the sum of the operator and the first order corrector, where is the effective operator with constant coefficients and with the Dirichlet boundary condition.
